The curtain has fallen, but the memories remain. With great gratitude we look back on Buren bij Kunstenaars 2026 at OC Cerf in Gullegem, where Yelena Bondarenko showed a wide selection of her recent work.
A room full of light and texture
The bright, open space of OC Cerf proved the perfect setting for Yelena's work. Her abstract landscapes, built up in texture and acrylic on linen, had all the room they needed to breathe. Visitors walked past warm, fiery compositions in red and ochre, restrained earth tones reminiscent of mountains and waterfalls, and deep blue seascapes full of movement.
Several works stood on easels by the large windows, where daylight brought the relief even more to life. It pays to come close to Yelena's paintings: only then do you see how rich the surfaces are.
A special tribute in the middle of the room
At the heart of the exhibition stood a plinth with the trophy of the 2025 Jury Prize of Kasteel Borluut, together with the accompanying certificate and Yelena's portfolio. It became a natural meeting point where visitors paused, leafed through the portfolio and asked about her way of working.
Encounters that stay with you
What makes an exhibition truly valuable is the people. We enjoyed every conversation, every question about technique and inspiration, and the visitors who took their time to look through the portfolio. Thank you to everyone who came by!
Special thanks also to the organisers, the volunteers and OC Cerf for the warm welcome and the pleasant collaboration.
